Battery Lifeīattery life on the Acer Chromebook 514 is phenomenal. Either way, it’s good enough for most users it’s much better than the awful 1366×768 TN panels that plagued the non-premium sector a few years ago. Its brightness and color production, however, are surprisingly good for its price point, eclipsing the much pricier HP Chromebook x360 14’s display in terms of overall quality, though it of course won’t hold a candle to something like a much pricier Google Pixelbook i7 (or Google Pixelbook i5). Like the 1H, the 3H’s HDMI port is dependent on your configuration, but again, 10Gbps USB-C ports with the video out mean the most you’ll need to do is reach for your trusty USB-C hub.The display on the Acer Chromebook 514 is pretty standard for its price point on paper it’s a 14” 1920×1080 IPS panel with touch support, which is extremely common at this budget. Unfortunately, we’ve lost a couple of ports - the microSD card slot is gone along with one of the USB-A ports - but the two USB-C ports are now USB 3.2 Gen 2, so they’re capable of 10Gbps data transfer speeds, which is essential if you’re outputting to a fancy USB-C monitor like me. Fan vents are identical, both have the same sculpting at the hinge and sides, and Acer's still sticking with the cool aluminum lid and plastic body.
